Fabric & fit details

Fabric Engineering & Stretch Performance
We source our denim from mills that specialize in stretch-cotton weaves, blending traditional ring-spun cotton with just enough elastane to create recovery without losing structure. The 12-ounce weight sits in the sweet spot between lightweight summer jackets and heavy workwear — substantial enough to hold its shape over years of wear, light enough to layer comfortably.
The elastane fibers are core-spun into the yarn itself rather than added as a surface treatment, which means the stretch performance doesn’t wash out over time. After laundering, the jacket returns to its original dimensions without the sagging common in lower-quality stretch denim. This construction method costs more at the manufacturing stage, but the longevity justifies the investment for anyone building a lasting wardrobe.

Tailored Fit Through the Waist & Shoulders
Princess seams run from the shoulder line down through the bust and waist, creating shape without relying on bulky side seams or darts. This technique — borrowed from tailored blazer construction — lets us fit the jacket closer to the body while maintaining full range of motion in the arms and shoulders.
The armscye is cut slightly higher than standard men’s-inspired denim jackets, which prevents the slouchy, oversized look that can overwhelm smaller frames. We extended the back yoke by half an inch compared to our initial prototype after fit testing showed that a longer torso line balanced the silhouette better when layering over fitted tops. Sleeve length hits right at the wrist bone when arms are relaxed, with enough length to roll twice for a casual cuff.
Versatile Styling Across Seasons
Layering Foundations
The jacket works as a transitional layer in spring and fall, fitting comfortably over tees, tanks, and lightweight blouses without pulling at the shoulder seams. In colder months, it layers under wool coats and parkas thanks to the slim-cut sleeves that don’t bunch.
Dress-Up & Dress-Down Range
Pair it with tailored trousers and loafers for a polished casual office look, or throw it over a sundress with sneakers for weekend errands. The antique brass hardware reads more refined than standard silver-tone buttons, which helps the jacket bridge the gap between workwear and refined casual. The same construction details that define our broader outerwear collection — reinforced stress points, quality hardware, and thoughtful proportions — ensure this piece integrates seamlessly with any wardrobe.

Curve Appeal Denim Jacket Questions
The jacket runs true to size with a tailored fit. If you're between sizes or prefer a relaxed boyfriend fit, we recommend sizing up. Measure your bust at the fullest point and consult our size chart — the stretch fabric accommodates minor variance, but starting with accurate measurements ensures the princess seams align properly.
The elastane fibers are core-spun into the cotton yarn itself, which means the fabric retains its shape and recovery properties even after repeated laundering. Unlike surface-treated stretch denim, this construction method prevents sagging or permanent stretching. After washing, the jacket returns to its original dimensions.
Yes, machine wash cold with similar colors, turning the jacket inside out to protect the finish. Tumble dry on low heat or hang to air dry. Avoid high heat settings, which can degrade the elastane over time. We recommend washing every four to five wears to preserve the denim's natural aging process and color depth.
Indigo Wash is our classic medium-blue denim with subtle fading. Black offers a sleeker, more modern look with no distressing. Light Stone is a pale, lived-in wash that works well for spring and summer layering. All three use the same premium stretch fabric and construction.
Sleeve length is consistent across all sizes, so petite customers may need to roll the cuffs once. The torso length hits at the hip on most body types — taller frames will see a slightly cropped fit, while shorter torsos get more coverage. We're exploring petite and tall-specific sizing for future releases based on customer feedback.
We designed this jacket specifically for women's proportions, with a higher armscye, shaped waist seaming, and a shorter torso length than unisex or men's cuts. If you typically wear men's denim jackets, expect a more fitted silhouette through the waist and shoulders. The stretch fabric offers more flexibility than rigid men's denim.
The antique brass buttons and rivets are nickel-free and safe for most people with metal sensitivities. If you have severe contact allergies, we recommend wearing a layer underneath or testing the hardware against your skin before extended wear. All metal components meet US and EU safety standards for apparel.
